We recently visited a cassava farm, and it was a sobering experience. There’s a prevailing misconception that a dark soil colour or a plot of land that’s been fallow for a while automatically equates to fertile ground. In reality, appearances can be deceiving, and relying on guesswork when it comes to your farm’s foundation is a gamble you can’t afford to take, especially in the face of unpredictable climate patterns.
