In modern sustainable agriculture, the concept of waste is rapidly becoming obsolete. At Ayosifam Integrated Service Limited, we believe that true agribusiness efficiency means leaving nothing behind.
While demand for our processed potato and cassava products consistently outstrips our current supply, our commitment to sustainability goes far beyond our flour bags and staple lines. It is built directly into our zero-waste processing model—our own practical contribution to combating climate change.
From Processing Floor to Livestock Feed: A Closed-Loop System
When processing root crops like cassava and potatoes, byproducts such as peels are inevitable. However, at Ayosifam, these byproducts never become environmental waste.
-
Clean and Clear Environment: While we may not always track precise weekly volume metrics for every pound of peel generated, our factory floor and surrounding environment remain completely free of waste.
-
Sun-Dried Quality: Before packaging, all organic byproducts and peels are thoroughly sun-dried using direct sunlight. This natural dehydration process locks in quality and prevents spoilage.
-
Neatly Bagged for Livestock: Once properly sun-dried, the waste materials are neatly bagged up and sold out directly to poultry farmers, cattle and livestock producers, and goat farmers in our community.
Supporting Farmers, Protecting the Climate
By turning what others consider “refuse” into nutrient-rich animal feed, we achieve two major goals:
-
Circular Economy: We provide affordable, high-quality feed alternatives for local poultry and livestock farmers, helping them lower their production costs.
-
Climate Action: Keeping organic matter out of decomposing landfills or unmanaged dumps prevents harmful methane emissions, aligning our operations with climate-smart agricultural practices.
